Yohnnie Shambourger, a former Mr. Universe, is known for his exceptional ability to reshape the human body. He is a highly motivated individual who possesses extensive knowledge, experience and expertise in fitness and nutrition. He leads his business using the guiding principle that "fitness can be achieved at any age, with commitment and proper guidance."

Mr. Shambourger attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he received both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree in Physical Education. From 1976 to 1987, he was Head Swimming Coach at the University. During his tenure and under his committed leadership, the swim team won eight championship titles. Subsequently, he was inducted into Howard University's Athletic Hall of Fame. He was honored to be appointed as a member of the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness for the State of Maryland.

During the course of his career, Yohnnie participated in many sports. In addition to being a collegiate swimmer, he was a popular tri-athlete and an All-American Greco-Roman wrestler.

In 1991, he founded Yohnnex Sports, Incorporated (YSI). YSI is an organization that conducts training programs and presents events to educate and support the general public on the benefits of living a healthier lifestyle. Further, it encourages athletes to understand that a “bigger and stronger” body can be accomplished without the use of drugs.

After sustaining an elbow injury, he started a campaign to strengthen and condition his body through nutrition and resistance training. In 1995, at the age of 42, Yohnnie won a gold medal in bodybuilding at the Pan-American Games in Argentina. During that same year, he represented the United States in Guam at the International Federation of Body Building (IFBB) World Amateur Body Building Championship and won another gold medal. This outstanding achievement earned him the title of "Mr. Universe."

Over the years, Mr. Shambourger developed a unique training system to transform the bodies and change the lives of his clients. Some of his most incredible success stories include the following individuals:

• Ernestine Shepherd started training with Yohnnie at age 71 for her very first Body Building show. In 7 months she was transformed from a grandmother to “Body Building Diva” winning 1st place. As they continued to train together her popularity grew. She was named The Guinness Book of World Records “Oldest Female Body Builder”, Ripley’s Believe It or Not “Granny Six-Pack”, appearances on Oprah, CNN, Anderson Cooper, Dr. Oz, Steve Harvey and more. She is now in her 80’s and travels with Yohnnie around the world promoting fitness, a healthier lifestyle and living the best life.

Shawn “Flexatron”Rhoden is a popular IFBB Pro Bodybuilder, who attributes most of his success from amateur to professional status to his training with Yohnnie Shambourger. He is now the #1 bodybuilder in the world - winning the 2018 Mr. Olympia title.

Zion Barnes is a person who wanted to improve her health. Working with Yohnnie, she reduced her weight from 400lbs to 198lbs. She now lives a healthier and happier lifestyle.

Mr. Shambourger conducts weight management and personal fitness training programs for clients around the world. He also facilitates the development of various fitness centers and wellness programs. He contributes fitness and nutrition articles for Flex Magazine, Ironman Magazine, and Muscular Development Magazine.
